From the Artist
“You have to begin to lose your memory, if only in bits and pieces to realize that memory is what makes our lives. Life without memory is no life at all, just as an intelligence without the possibility of expression is not really an intelligence. Our memory is our coherence, our reason, our feeling, even our action. Without it, we are nothing.”
- Luis Bunuel, My Last Sigh -
In the past my montages have been created by hand, using individual photographs; then mounted and framed.
My new work is now created on the computer. C-prints are then mounted on sintra, and facemounted onto plexiglass, then laser cut to the shape of the piece. It hangs floating about 2 inches off the wall...part sculpture, part photomontage.
My work will be on exhibition at The Atlantic Gallery in NYC from March 1 - 26.
